Covid Relief

As the second wave of the pandemic hit, hospitals in India were in dire need of medical supplies, specifically related to Oxygen like Ventilators, Oxygen Concentrators, Oxygen Beds and others. Towards this, SonderConnect (a foundation for Women Entrepreneurs) initiated a campaign to raise funds for serving hospitals. We are working directly with hospitals which are very carefully vetted by us and where we personally know the Administration to track that the funds will be used for these supplies.

Since the campaign was launched a fortnight ago, more than 220 generous souls have helped us raise ~$60,000(~42 Lacs INR). These include supporters from India and abroad, college students, anonymous patrons and a few who have donated more than once via Milaap. The link to the campaign with Milaap is here.

In addition to the above campaign, we are also donating as needed at the grass root level for immediate needs. Since the less funded hospitals and rural areas are stressed for even basic supplies, we’ve also provided consumables (N95 masks, sanitizer, face shields, gloves, oxygen masks etc.) for 6 Covid Care Centers (CCC) at Bijapur. The founders of Melorra.com and SonderConnect also partnered to donate oxygen concentrators to the Divisional Railway hospital at City Station, Bangalore to meet the dire shortage of oxygen.

This is a long and arduous fight that will test our patience, resilience and large heartedness. These hospitals will need us long after the media attention has moved to the next news item. Urge those who haven’t had a chance, to make meaningful contributions and those who can spare a little more to continue giving.

Covid Relied Felicitation by Railways on Independence Day

It was indeed an honor to be invited on behalf of SonderConnect to the Independence Day Parade of the South Western Railways and be felicitated by their new DRM Shri Shyam Singh, for helping Railways during the second wave peak oxygen shortage at the Divisional Rly Hospital. Here’s expressing gratitude to all our generous donors who helped us during this crucial phase which helped immensely in the last mile efforts.

Watching the grounds and the atmosphere reverberating with the rhythm of the parades always evokes an emotional fervor. It was truly heartening and inspiring to see the entire parade being led by sub inspector Anusha. The events by the Jawans and Scouts was truly exceptional, extremely thoughtfully anchored by the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Ms. Debasmita Banerjee.
